Your reading list for Monday, Feb 11: Brennan hearing, and NDAA
Hey everybody, John here. Monday’s show is one we’re both really, really excited about. We interviewed Yemen expert Gregory Johnsen about John Brennan’s confirmation hearing to be CIA director. We also spoke with Chris Hedges, Jesselyn Radack, and NSA whistleblower Thomas Drake, who are all plaintiffs in the NDAA lawsuit.
The previous post was a link to a story I wrote on the NDAA lawsuit, so click on that for some background. For more on the lawsuit, read Salon’s Natasha Lennard and FireDogLake’s Kevin Gosztola, both of whom are obv friends of the show.
For the Brennan hearing, start with Greg’s post on whether the US actually tries to capture terror suspects, or simply kill them. Two New Yorker posts, here (on the “so-called American” phrase) and here (on Senate’s courtship of Brennan), are also some of the best commentary on the hearing.
Hope you all enjoy Monday’s show.
